ENGINEERING

  • Profile:  Engineering is the leading Italian software and services group, with 8.100 employees and more than 40 sites distributed in Italy, Belgium, Republic of Serbia, South America (Brazil and Argentina) and United States. It has a consolidated revenue portfolio in 2016 of about 934 million Euros.
    Engineering has a consolidated presence on all vertical markets and operates through its 4 business units – Public Administration & Healthcare, Telco & Utilities, Industry & Services, Finance – supported by cross-business unit centres of competence and by the Research and Innovation Department which has the dual role of promoting research on software at an international level and transferring innovation to the production cycle of the business structures.
    The Group invests about 30 million Euro/year in research, with about 250 researchers, more than 70 ongoing national and international research projects and 6 development laboratories.
    The Group carries out IT innovation, combining the potential of a full, integrated offer of Business Integration, Infrastructural Outsourcing and Cloud services (provided by 5 Data Centers), Consulting and customized proprietary solutions.

  • Project role: ENGINEERING will lead the Exploitation, Innovation and Dissemination tasks of WP6, contributing in the definition of exploitation opportunities of mF2C in the industry, promoting the adoption of the mF2C infrastructure in conventional or brand new business scenarios. It will monitor on marketing potential in different segments and spotting specific sustainable business opportunities, supporting the implementation of foreseen exploitation paths. It will contribute to all tasks in WP5 and at the finalization of the Fog Hub Use case, with care to field configuration and settings, and field trials of the developed mF2C service and system management, giving the required feedback and suggestions for improvements.  ENGINEERING will contribute on WP2 tracking available technologies required, contributing in the novel business models definition, providing its experience on privacy/security aspects and supporting infrastructure, in WP3 will contribute setting general security and privacy requirements, and providing suggestions and insights to other partners about specific requirements needed by the Fog-Hub Use Case
